  License issues
Posted by: nuttytechy - 28-09-2017, 12:23 AM - Forum: General - Replies (1)

Hello. I went to download the latest software as its that time of year again and when I went to put in my details for the license which was purchased a few years ago. Its giving me an error saying that this license is only suitable for the older versions and not for the newer ones.

I went to activate the software offline on the newer version ( AUG 2017 ) as the sept wouldn't let me download.

Do I have to keep to the older version ?

  32 channel bulk controller
Posted by: magical46 - 09-09-2017, 06:25 PM - Forum: General - Replies (1)

Hi, I am hoping to build a "Quartet" of singing xmas trees, using the templates from Syncrolight which I have. For me cost is a big issue (I may not get all 4 done by this xmas), so to try and keep costs down a bit I was thinking of using the 32 channel bulk controller but have a couple of questions:-
Does this controller need just one power supply and if so what would you recommend for 4 trees?
Does it just require one device number on my network?
Finally do you supply a housing big enough to house it?

Thanks
Phil

Sad Ethernet controller problems
Posted by: daniel5488 - 07-09-2017, 05:02 PM - Forum: General - Replies (1)

I've just updated my software to the newest version and my test pixel star I made and had working a month ago no longer works.

All I get from the test sequence is mad flickering and it seems to crash the controller. It needs to be turned on and off again to show back up again.

I have tried different sets of pixels, powers supplies etc and it still does the same.

Really can't understand how everything was working lovely and now it's not Sad

  Latest software and Lip Sync
Posted by: magical46 - 03-09-2017, 08:04 PM - Forum: General - Replies (2)

Hi
I have downloaded the latest software version and am already working on 4 "Singing Trees". I have the configuration done and worked out how to produce short a lip synced sequence. I cannot find in the user guide any reference to the lip sync effect, so a couple of questions if someone could assist me.
1. Is it possible to use the Shuffle  buttons on a sequence to adjust the timing? It didn't seem to work when I tried.
2. Does it take punctuation into account? Sometimes there is a fractionally longer gap between words which then puts the timing out.
3. During a song some words/ notes are held longer than others so " Joy to the World" becomes "Joy to the Woooorld" is there a way to do this other than as I just typed it.

That's all for now, loving the new software, any chance of a video guide or an additional bit for the user guide re lip sync?

Many thanks
Phil

Warning about a new design of low current LED Light Strings
Posted by: Jane - 02-09-2017, 06:51 PM - Forum: General - Replies (1)

It has come to our attention that some Christmas LED light strings are becoming available on the UK market that are ONLY suitable for use with very low current power supplies, typically under 100ma. These are being made with only one resistor for the whole string rather than the usual one resistor for every 8 or 10 LEDs, presumably to cut costs. As a result when these strings are used with a higher current power supply, the string still appears to work fine but the resistor gets very, very hot. We do not recommend using these light strings with our DC controllers, but they may still be used on our AC controller along with the original power supply for the lights. If you ever need to replace the original power supply ensure the replacement matches the current and voltage of the original exactly.

All our Syncrolight LED light strings, available on our website, have multiple resistors are specially designed for use on our DC controllers.

Many LED light strings from other suppliers can be used with our DC controllers but please do be aware of this growing trend, of low current led strings and power supplies, that is currently hitting the UK market.

If anyone needs further advise on this matter please feel free to contact us.

  Singing face templates
Posted by: magical46 - 03-08-2017, 07:30 PM - Forum: General - Replies (9)

Hi all,
really pleased to see you are making templates for the singing trees, snowmen etc and will definately be ordering. Just a quick question will the templates be re useable, i.e. if I buy one tree template can I make several trees? I am sure the answer will be an obvious yes but just thought I'd check
