I`m putting together my first light show so am a complete newbie.  I was wondering what others do regarding broadcasting sound?  I am thinking of using some sort of FM transmitter.  Is there anything anyone can recommend?

i have made a pixel mage tree consisting of 2304 ws2811 pixels.

i have it spread across 6 of the 8 outputs and i have my 135 pixel star on output 7.

when i play my shows and the tree does quick full colour changes for example red, blue, yellow, pink.......the outputs are not all in time.

when i had just output 1 wired up a few weeks ago for testing of course i couldn't tell this but in the device manger i could get much higher actual Hz in the testing and now its dropped down to 50-55Hz.

i know that ws2811 pixels cant transmit data as fast but how is that effecting the outputs not being in sync?

any ideas on this anyone?

Hi, I have just been setting up my show player controller. All went fine downloaded titles and can select and play tunes from the show player. I then set up the schedule (1700 -2000 daily) but despite the fact it was 2130 the show player still showed titles, NOT the default message, and when I tried to save the schedule I got an error message saying access denied to file .slp I am running it from a laptop running windows 10.

does anyone know how to use the shockwave flash file onto a pixel item i cant seem to get it to work?

Hi, excuse my ignorance but is a PCB jumper (as recommended on the show player at the end of my network) simple a wire connecting the two terminals? Not being well versed in electrics I don't want to do the wrong thing

Hi all

Having problems getting the lights to play with the Ethernet controller.
Everything works fine in the Ethernet device manager 
I have built my first very basic show with a addressable led strip.
It works fine in the visualisation. But when switch the control lights to on nothing happens.
When the the switch is off i have a red light on the controller 
When the switch is on i have a red light and a flashing green light. Which what i have read is correct?

Hi all,

I didnt want to clutter the Pi Show player thread with questions so started a new one as I'm having a bit of trouble getting it working.

I've exported a test show that uses both ethernet and USB interfaces and copied it to the Pi.

When I run it i get an error message:
ERROR - Failed to open USB device

The test show still plays with the ethernet controller working fine but the USB controller isnt working.

I thought I may have stuffed up the driver installation so I have reformatted the USB card, a clean install of Raspbian on the Pi and reinstalled everything but with the same result.

Added to rc.local and executed in terminal to test
sudo rmmod ftdi_sio
sudo rmmod usbserial

I then tried building the examples with the FTDI driver installation and executed the EEPROM read example to verify that the driver was working and the USB interface was being recognised which it seems to be as the EEPROM read example returns VendorID and ProductID amongst other data.

Any ideas what I can try please as I am properly stumped

i am technicly minded when it comes to electronics but as newbie to all this light show tech i have just a few questions i wish to ask

i have been watching alot of shows on youtube about ideas and came across syncrolights. how many controlers can you have with any given liecence

for example i i bought 1x controller with 7000 pixals and one 1x controller with say 1000 pixals lisence will it add them together or is the max the limit u cant go over

my 2nd question is can the controllers be used on the same network lan as other devices such printers media players ect...

my last question is can the standerd 8 channel no pixal controler be used with a 12v supply

when i add a pixel tree and then try to add an effect and preview it i keep getting the message as in the picture attached ? then the program completely shuts down, i have updated to the new version of software?

any help anyone?

hi again,

i keep getting an out of memory error now since ive started with pixels. and the program lags very much also.

this highest ive seen the memory usage go in task manager is 600mb or so......i have 16GB memory total in this laptop so cannot see why this comes up.

every other program i use runs fine.


is there a way to improve performance, as now im stuck again
