Hi all, I am building a model railway layout and as my 24 channel DC syncrolight controllers lay dormant most of the year i thought they would be great for layout lighting too!
My question is, to minimise wiring in small houses, am I able to connect negatives from different channels together? ie to run only one neutral wire to a building but separate positives for each channel/room?

I’ve just built 2 of the Syncrolight animated snowmen and now need to mount the led strings. How many led’s are classed as a short run and what resistor value do I need to fit to these short strings? I’m using a 24v 5a supply and using strings from Syncrolight. Thanks

Hi Folks
I was mounting and setting up some controllers and have inadvertently given one of them an ID that I had already issued to the last controller I added. Now only 1 of them shows up when I check the RS485 tab or click to browse. I have a solid led but the controller is invisible to all intents and purposes. I assume I need to default this controller back to ID1 but no idea how to do this?
Thanks

Mega tree again |

I’m thinking that I don’t need to go 360 on my mega tree build and that 180 will be best. With that in mind, how many strips will give the best visuals? I’ve seen mention 16 as a minimum but 24 is also mentioned. I’m looking for a 3m pole to build around, what sort of diameter on the base should I be looking at? I’ll be using 12v pixels. Thanks.

Is there anywhere in the uk to get a mega tree framework or at the very least the top piece to hang the lights from?

Run a "Live" Pixel show? |

Wondering ......
Is there any way to run a pixel show "live" - as in under direct real time control?
There is probably a really god reason why its not possible, - but if you think of stage lighting, DMX is a daisy chain of lights each with independant control ....
OK, - so DMX lights have independant addresses instead of being in a daisy chain....
Just thought it would be really cool to control my pixels from a virtual "desk" in real time.
Am sure its possible, but is it easy, practical, and affordable?
Hope some genius can point me in the right direction.
Thanks

Repairing/Cutting LED light Strings |

Hi
Over the past few years there have been a few Threads on issues with Light Strings. Some of these have been due to 'underloading of the transformer supply' (see previous Threads etc.) Others have asked about repairing Light Strings.
I have tried to explain the various issues and possible remedies on some of these Threads, but I think this will help explain it more easily to the layman.
Look at 'Bigclive.com', click on his Youtube channel link and look at his videos. A couple of days ago, he produced an excellent video on repairing LED light strings. He also explains the issues that you will encounter if you decide to try repair yourself (as well as producing simple diagrams to accompany his explanation).
Hope this helps you guys out there to understand a bit more
Regards
Sandy

Problems with show player |

Having lots of issues with show player.
I have a list of about 12 shows in my playlist.
Have tried to set up a timed show to start at 5 mins past the hour. Misses 1st show in list, plays second, freezes on 3rd.
Tried using manual start by selecting each show on the playlist. Some play when play button is pressed some don't.
This is getting very frustrating.
