Hi all. Thanks for letting me join the forum.
1. My first time doing a christmas light show. I am starting small (8Ch, 2 x Red & 2 x Green for 2 trees, 3 x yellow for 3 shrubs and 1 x multi for trellis). I am hoping to program my own sequence to Greg Lakes - Father Christmas. If I fail I will use one of the pre-built shows. My question is would any of the shows be suitable for this small set up or are some more suited than others?
2. Can the show sequencer be used to turn the lights on and off at set times i.e beginning and end of programmed shows.
Thanks

I'm just in the planning stages of making a pixel mega tree, do people use every hole in the mounting strips or every other? Also how many drops would you use on a 2 meter tree?
Thanks in advance.

i may be the only one not to nitice, but the new LED boards , the connectors are opposite way around on Ch 1,3,5,7 , so if swapping the molex conectors between old and new boards they wont work , i had the 12v lamps , no issue just rewired , when i eventually twigged but need to be aware , just in case it takes you 2 hours ot notice the change :-)

One Pixel Out |

I have just started trying out a few sequences with my new ethernet controller and 2 strings of ws2811 5v pixels (50 pixels).
In device manager they are all working fine and can be controlled individually.
However when in show designer and i select all 50 on, the last one in the string does not come on. If i put both strings together the 100th does not come on but all other 99 do.
I'm using a 10amp psu for the controller and lights, this happens both when powering both strings from the controller output and when I inject power to the second string.
Any suggestions where I'm going wrong?

Changing visulisation |

So I got the free let it go/ in to the unknown show. Opened it and opened a visulisation and then realised it was an old one. And I can't see a way to change it to the newer version I have saved. I know this is going to be a simple thing I'm missing.
sorted it, just deleted the older one off the laptop and when opened it again it asked for new or existing so was able to open the correct one.

Hi Again,
So I'm looking to get started with adding pixels to my display this year, just wanted to ask a few things:
Already found I will need to upgrade to the Pro software to run ethernet controller with existing DC ones.
Looking at the SL-4000 controller with 1000 pixel licence, and to start with probably 2 of the WS2811 strings each of 50 pixels. This will I believe require a 5v power supply to run the controller, I also read somewhere about powering each string individuallly / injecting power to each? Does this mean a seperate PSU for each string?
With the 2 external output ports I could put 1 string in each, and guessing that if I get extra strings in future they can just be connected onto the ends of the existing ones and programmed as required? e.g If I had say 4 different pixel items a few metres apart from each other I could just tell the software that "string A" is here and "string B" there, or would it all count as one item?
Sorry for so many questions but just want to make sure I know exactly what I need to get going!
