SD controller in stand alone mode
Posted by: magical46 - 31-10-2018, 09:21 PM - Forum: General - Replies (3)

Hi, I have decided not to do a display to music this year (due to some local youths trying to wreck it last year) but I do want to use the RGB pixels and SD card controller. I have the configuration set to stand alone and "Play all" but all I am getting is the first pixel briefly lit in blue. It may be due to the fact everything got a bit damp last year but I would have thought it would be ok now. I have tried formatting the card and re installing the software onto it but still the same result. Any help please.

  Power injection RGB Dumb nodes.
Posted by: Wayne - 21-10-2018, 10:30 AM - Forum: General - Replies (1)

I am trying to find out the best way to power inject 100-150 RGB Dumb nodes. The nodes (5V) will be connected to DC08 controller using 3 channels with a common + using the first of the 3 channels. My intention is to just run a positive wire to the joining points (50 nodes) but not sure if it's  ok to do this. If this is ok to do which is the best place to take the feed from ? I was thinking of taking it from either one or both of the other 2 channels connected as needed. One problem I may have with that is I have configured one of the sets of 150 over 2 DC08 controllers channels (7&8 on one and 1 on the next) so again not sure if that will be ok to power from the 2 separate controllers. My other thought is to run the initial feed from the controller and power inject from the power supply that feeds the controller.

Cheers

Wayne

  build/buy Matrix
Posted by: Bullet1986 - 30-09-2018, 05:02 PM - Forum: General - Replies (7)

hi all,

I am a couple of years into doing displays now and love the look of the matrix set ups that many use and want to incorparate one into my display

can they be made just using a collection of the 1mtr Addressable strips or is it better to buy something already made?

i am after something around a meter wide and tall enough to look impactful.

any suggestions or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

the 32 x 8 on the site is far too small and unsure how i'd link multiple ones of these together. plus i'd like to get a matrix added to my display without remortgaging

hope you're all getting prepped, i've left it late as usual. oops

thank you in advance
