windows 10 update.

Just wondering if the driver not installed error is due to windows updating on my pc, my drivers are ok on my laptop,  tried reinstalling, no joy, see pic

Try using the latest chip driver for the USB-RS485 from this page for windows 10.

I have looked at the page suggested and i have no idea how to find the right driver or what to do with when i find it, thanks anyway.

Check if the USB-RS485 cable is actually working, it may just be the Quick Start cannot determine the status of the driver (Which can sometime happen due to security settings, especially if you have just installed the software and the Quick Start has been launched by the installer).

If the USB RS485 does not work then try installing the latest driver, its the VCP (Virtual COM port) driver you need - http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm
