SD controller in stand alone mode - magical46 - 31-10-2018

Hi, I have decided not to do a display to music this year (due to some local youths trying to wreck it last year) but I do want to use the RGB pixels and SD card controller. I have the configuration set to stand alone and "Play all" but all I am getting is the first pixel briefly lit in blue. It may be due to the fact everything got a bit damp last year but I would have thought it would be ok now. I have tried formatting the card and re installing the software onto it but still the same result. Any help please.

Hi Phil,

Check that the Pixel Type is set to correctly for the pixels you have (2801, 8806 etc). Also try controlling from the Device manager first (with the SD card Controller in slave mode).
Also check you have clock/data wired correctly to the pixels.

If you still have problems feel free to drop your SD card controller off to us and I will check it over for you.

Craig.

Hi again, it seems to be that the controller is not reading the SD card. If I connect the controller/pixels to the network with the card set to "slave" and add some patterns in show designer the pixels work fine. I can see what's on the SD card when its in the computer and change the settings. However with the card set to "Stand Alone" or "Auto" and no network connected to the controller nothing happens except the first pixel showing blue.

Try copying the SD card.  Then format the SD card and copy back every thing or try a different SD card.

If neither of these work take out the SD card and check the holder is soldered in place and not come loose.
