Hi
Is it possible to cut light strings down in size? If so how can this be done and can you then use the left over lights as another string?
Many thanks in advance for any help.

Raspberry Pi Player Problems |

I`m having problems with the raspberry pi player which for the life of me I can`t figure out. I keep getting the message ERRROR- Failed to open USB device every time I use the player. The music to the show starts playing but the software doesn`t start to control the controllers. I`ve tried installing the ftdi latest drivers but with no success. I`ve tested my cable with my laptop and it works fine from there.
What really confuses me is that it was working absolutely fine last Christmas and also a few months ago at halloween.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi all,
New member here, I'm slowly finding my way around the designer software, just wondered if there was a way of adding additional soundtracks to make longer shows etc. At the moment can only seem to add one soundtrack to a show. I'm using the software on a professional licence,
Thanks in advance

I was just wondering if there is going to be a competition for the best displays this year? I nearly entered last last year but felt that my display needed a bit more work before I dared show anyone, for fear of embarrassing myself against some of the excellent displays out there!

ac or dc contoller (newbie) |

Hi All,
Im new to this so please bare with me...
just looking for some advice regarding choosing an AC controller or DC controller. I was originally going to purchase the 24 channel DC controller however I wouldn't of been able to use some of my existing lights for example the rope silhouette lights I have only have a standard 240v plug on it and does not have a step down control box before powering the light. then I considered buying x3 8 channel AC controllers so I could use the silhouette lights and anything with a standard plug. I thought this was is going to be much easier however after reading on Syncrolights website about the potential delays on the low voltage lights which I have tested and im getting around a 2sec delay now im a bit stuck on what to do. now im back considering the DC controller and doing away with the rope silhouette lights but the issue I have now is the mix of voltage I have for example I have 2 sets of 5 light up candy canes which on the transformer plug states output 31v, x3 stars output each 16v, string lights ranging from 12v to 24v. just need some advice on what to do about the different voltages I have and what power supply I would need to power the 24 channel DC controller.
Apologies for the long post just want to get it right from the start
Many thanks
Aysin

Injecting power / how many nodes per power source |

Hi all.
I have a 5v 60amp power supply.
I have made a matrix which is running 693 nodes.
I have injected power as required but I have used all 3 outlets on the power pack. But I'm happy with how the matrix looks.
I have 2x 5mtr strips (I think totalling 500ish leds) and another 400 leds on top that I'll be using elsewhere in the display.
How many lights will the current power source power? Do I need a second power source for the rest of the lights or can I just screw them into the outputs I have already?
Thanks in advance
