  Urgent help required. Broken adaptor
Posted by: magical46 - 30-10-2016, 06:21 PM - Forum: General - Replies (4)

Hi'
Having spent many hours getting lights ready for Halloween tomorrow, my 24vac 600mA adaptor for the plug and play lights has broken. Pin where the lights plug into it has broken off!! Anyone know where I could get a replacement in time for tomorrow (Monday ) night. Maplins maybe? I am in Farnham and have the day off to set the lights up.

  DMX Features
Posted by: krissprolls - 23-10-2016, 06:14 PM - Forum: General - Replies (7)

Hi,

Can you explain more DMX use on the show ?

Nothing works now (with RS485 cable and 1 devices only), i have put a XLR female connector on one of my old projector with wiring configuration :

White A for DMX +
Green B for DMX -
Black GND for DMX GND

In the software, i have a DMX network with the correct COM and baudrate (57200), the adress of my device is similar to my DMX adress on my device.

Thanks in advance

  Missing DAT file
Posted by: magical46 - 22-10-2016, 05:28 PM - Forum: General - Replies (2)

Hi, i have just copied all my synchrolight and show files to a laptop (so I can work on my shows without disturbing the wifes TV !!) all is working fine except in Show Designer when I highlight my RGB pixels section and right click then select "Patterns" I get an error message saying " .....\synchroLight\RGBPatternsLibrary.dat - File may be corrupt or missing" I am using an SD controller and can add my own sequences but not the patterns. If I use the PC where I originally installed everyting it all works fine and I can add patterns. Have I missed something in copying to the laptop?
Any help much appreciated.

Phil

Playing Videos during Show - Windows Media Player Updates
Posted by: Craig - 13-10-2016, 03:28 PM - Forum: General - Replies (5)

With the professional license you can play videos and images during the show by creating and "Aux Channel" in the Show Designer.

If you have the latest Windows Media Player installed and you have issues getting the video to play you may need to update a couple of files in the Syncrolight installation directory.

1. In your Syncrolight installation directory (i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\SyncroLight ) move or rename the existing files called "Interop.WMPLib.dll" and "AxInterop.WMPLib.dll"  e.g. rename them to "old_Interop.WMPLib.dll" and "old_AxInterop.WMPLib.dll"

2. Copy the new versions from the attached zip into the Syncrolight installation directory.

Note that you may need to be logged onto your system as an administrator to access files in this directory.

I have brought the syncrolight SD controller along with the RS485 cable to create a network. I have brought a professional licence and have activated the software. This is my first computerised show which contains 500 pixels but I can't get the pixels to work with the controller. The USB cable is flashing blue and the red light on the controller is a solid red.

Standalone Controller Sequences - Firmware Update
Posted by: Craig - 10-10-2016, 08:34 AM - Forum: General - No Replies

All current Syncrolight 8 Channel and 3 Channel controllers support stand-alone sequences that can be configured to automatically start when the computer is not connected.

The latest release of the software allows you to edit the built-in sequences using a new tool called the "Device Sequence Manager".

All the DC08A, AC08A and DC03A have this capability (basically all our AC/DC controller except from the older style DC08B which is a square PCB).

In order to use this new tool it is necessary to update the firmware on your controller to the latest version. You can update the firmware by using "Update Firmware" button on the Device Manager.  The latest firmware files required are below. Please ensure you use the correct file for your controller type.

  Timing issues...HELP!!
Posted by: magical46 - 04-10-2016, 05:17 PM - Forum: General - Replies (2)

I am trying to set up a show for Hallowen. Have my pumpkins (set of plug and play lights) working fine, my pumpkin face (animation set with DC08 controller) working fine. However I have just added a set of RGB Pixel lights with SD card controller and put in sequencs for them in show designer but now when I play the lights are all falling behind the music and by half way through they are several seconds behind.
The plug and play is controller no.1
the DC08 os no.2
and the SD card controller no.3, set to RS485 slave.

All the lights do what they are supposed to just getting more and more behind the music as it goes on.
What have I done wrong?

  Raspberry Pi - Show Player
Posted by: Craig - 04-10-2016, 08:36 AM - Forum: General - Replies (8)

Syncrolight Show Player for the Raspberry Pi - Available soon.

If you don't have an old laptop or PC to run your display then this is a perfect solution.  The Raspberry Pi is small and will boot and run without needing any screen or keyboard attached it, so its easy to accommodate if you have limited space.

Simply use the Syncrolight Show Designer to create your show as normal then export it to .SHP format and copy onto the PI. The Pi will play mp3 files and output the audio for the show via the headphone jack.

The USB-RS485 cable for your controllers simply connects to a USB port on the Pi just the same as a PC.

The Raspberry Pi Show Player supports all our USB-RS485 controllers and we hope to add support for our Ethernet controllers soon too.

If anyone wants more information please let me know.

Craig.
