PCB terminal jumper
#2
Hi Phil,

Yes, basically a PCB jumper is a little component that creates a short between two pins. This correctly terminates the network (by activating a resistor between RS485 wires to prevent reflections on the network). These are generally not essential, but if you experience any network issues it is always best to ensure the network is terminated. Many of our RS485 based controllers now have spaces for a termination jumper.

We don't supply the jumpers with the controllers, as they are not essential (and they are so small they are easily lost). However we do supply them free of charge upon request. If you would like us to post you one just let us know.

Craig.
