Hello, 

What’s the best way to make the large snowman to play the guitar.

I have set up 4 channels for the 2 hand separate hand movements

Left hand up
Left hand down
Right hand up 
Right hand down

Yes just 2 animations up and down would work fine.  If you are doing larger movements such as waving hands you might want 3 or 4 movements.
